You will explore static and dynamic stability, learning how positive, neutral, and negative stability influence flight behavior. We will cover pitching moments, explaining how force imbalances affect nose-up and nose-down tendencies, and examine how different types of stability—longitudinal, directional, and lateral—work together to ensure safe and predictable flight. You will also learn why some aircraft, like aerobatic planes and fighter jets, are intentionally designed with reduced stability to enhance maneuverability.

This course includes 2 modules, 5 lessons, and 2:00 hours of materials.
You’ll learn why a stable aircraft naturally returns to its original position after being disturbed, and how different stability types affect flight. From the basics of static and dynamic stability, to understanding pitching moments and the roles of each axis, you’ll see how stability shapes both safe everyday flying and high-performance aerobatics.
