Air isn’t just something we breathe—it’s a powerful force that helps planes fly!
In this exciting second part of our journey through the skies, students will explore how air’s behavior—its pressure, density, temperature, and viscosity—impacts flight. We’ll break down key concepts like lift, drag, thrust, and weight in a fun and easy-to-understand way.
This course includes 3 modules, 6 lessons, and 2:00 hours of materials.
Learn about air pressure, density, temperature, and how they affect a plane’s ability to lift off, stay up, and move smoothly through the sky. From drag and thrust to altitude challenges, this lesson breaks it all down so you can understand how flying machines take advantage of the invisible power all around us—air!
Before you begin the quiz, please write your full name before start the quiz. This helps us know who you are and keep track of your progress.
Create a poster, presentation, or model that explains:
🔵 "How Air Makes Flying Possible"
You must include these 5 things in your project:
✈️ 1. What Air Is Made Of?
- Show the main gases in air (Nitrogen, Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide, etc.)
- Use labels, drawings, or symbols
🔧 2. How Planes Use Air
- Give at least 3 examples from the lesson (e.g. nitrogen in tires, oxygen in engines, CO₂ in slides)
- Write a short sentence or add a picture for each one
🌬️ 3. How Air Behaves
- Explain any 3 of these air properties:
Density, Pressure, Temperature, Viscosity, or Weight
- Describe in simple words what each one means and how it affects flying
🌀 4. 4 Forces of Flight
- Draw or explain: Lift, Drag, Thrust, and Weight
- Show how they work together to help a plane fly
💡 5. Your Future Flying Idea
- Imagine your own flying machine of the future
- Write 2–3 sentences or draw it
- What makes it fly? What’s cool or different about it?
✨ How to Do Your Project
Choose one format:
- A handmade poster (take a photo and upload it)
- A PowerPoint/Google Slides (5–7 slides)
- A short video or recorded explanation (1–2 minutes)
- A 3D model with labels made from cardboard, paper, or recycled items (take a photo)
